Free Music Players for your Website

When I am building websites I find that getting a music player for free can be a challenge. Especially one that has all the bells an whistles that you want. So I decided to put together a list of free music players that I found on the net while I was scouring it trying to find the best free music player for a standard html website. I was able to find quite a few and even managed to use one or two on some websites I was creating for customers of mine. The ones you would pay for might have some better features and even the free ones do have pro versions which include some more options for your player but if you are looking for something simple that plays music for your website than all of these should do the job just fine.

Dew player is a great free product . Dewplayer is very cool and clean interface flash mp3 player. The flash animation is very light and easy to use. It downloads and plays the mp3 file when the play button is pressed. It is under the Creative Commons license or GPL which is why it is free.

It is under Creative Commons license. The usage is totally free even for commercial purposes (but not reselling it).

It Comes in 5 Sizes:

  • Mini (160×20)
  • Classic (200×20)
  • Multi (240×20)
  • Playlist (240×200)
  • Bubble (250×65)

How to install:

You can simply use the HTML example code, and set the mp3 argument. Use 44.1 Khz encoded mp3 files for better playing. Here’s a demo with the file test.mp3 in the same directory.

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.meltyourmanheart.org/dewplayer.swf"   width="200" height="20" id="dewplayer" name="dewplayer">
    <param   name="movie" value="http://www.meltyourmanheart.org/dewplayer.swf" />
    <param name="flashvars"   value="mp3=test.mp3" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent"   />
    </object>

    Else you can generate the HTML code directly for their site also.
